AdMob’s May Metrics

Admob For this months metrics report, AdMob has set it's focus on the distribution and usage of their iPhone portfolio. The company has been digging up many interesting facts.

Their portfolio of iPhone games consists of 2.309 titles. Of the portfolio, only 5% of the applications reached over 100.000 active users. That means only 116 titles are that successful. When this range is lowered to 10.000 to 10.000, 14% of their portfolio (322 games) is to be considered a success. 54% however had less then 1.000 active users.

AdMob served 8 billion requests in May. The company has seen a steady growth of 6% until that month. These requests where triggered by 15.1 million consumers.

The US generates the biggest share of the requests with 47.6% (0.6% up from last month). Indonesia takes second place at 8.8% (down 2%). India remains third at 5.9%.

On a continental level, North America generated 49.7% (up 0.5%). Second is Asia at 27.8% (down 1.5%) and third is Western Europe at 8.7% (up 0.2%).

When looking at the overall vendor portfolio, Apple is leading with a share of 31.4% (up 5.2%). Apple is followed by Nokia at 25.8% (down 0.1%) and third place goes to Samsung at 10.2% (down 1.1%).

On device level, Apple scoops first place with the iPhone at 18.6% (up 3.4%) and second place with the iPod Touch at 12.8% (up 1.8%). Third place goes to Samsung with their R450 at 2.2% (-0.3%).

The leading OS is iPhoneOS at 50%. Symbian takes second place at 33% and third place goes to BlackBerry OS with 7%.
