Back in August, we already reported that Acer had plans to launch an app store for their new line of smartphones. Yesterday, the company explained their plans for ‘Alive’.
The store will not only serve Acer’s mobile phones, but also distribute apps onto netbooks and tablets from the company. Back in August, the company was talking about support for both Android and Windows Mobile, but Windows Mobile wasn’t mentioned in the latest presentation (as expected).
The store will function much like iTunes. Consumers register their creditcard details one and after that, it is one-click downloads all the way. Alive will be launching for Italy and the UK this December, followed by other markets in 2011.
