According to ABI Research, Symbian and Android will be the fastest growing mobile operating systems over the coming years. Growth will mainly come from developing countries.
This year, ABI expects that 200.000.000 smartphones will be sold and that amount will double by 2014 as more and more markets where consumers have low budgets will start to want smartphones. Symbian and Android OS are logical platforms as they come free of licensing costs and run on low-cost hardware.
