With hundreds of millions of downloads, business has no doubt been going very well for the Finnish mobile studio Rovio. Yesterday, the studio has shown the success it had in pure cash as it reported €75.5 million in revenues over 2011.
Earnings before tax are an amazing €48 million. Of the revenues, 30% originated from merchandising or brand licensing. The many Angry Birds products from Gear4 are just an example of the success Rovio is having.
By the end of 2011, the number of downloads totalled 648 million. That’s on all platforms, on all markets. In total, Rovio caters 200 million active players a month. Rovio now has 224 employees on its payroll.
Congratulations
