Facebook Acquired Glancee

May 8th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

Only weeks after purchasing Instagram for a massive $1 billion, Facebook makes yet another mobile purchase. This time, the social network swallows Glancee. A social mobile service that has been running for about two years.

Glancee connects users based on interest and location, creating its own social network. Following the acquisition by Facebook, the Glancee apps have been removed and Facebook is likely to integrate the technology of Glancee into its own platform. The Glancee office seems to have been shut down as Glancee reported that its team has joined the Facebook developers in Menlo Park.
