No Promo Codes for 17+ Apps

July 21st, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple Apple has started to block promo codes for all applications and games that hold a 17+ age rating. The cause of this step? The company cannot display age warnings when promo codes are being used.

This step from Apple will make it a lot harder for mobile game developers to get their 17+ content reviewed and to give away free games as promotion. 17+ age ratings are not only given to adult content, but also to content which might enable to view adult or illegal content.
