Microsoft to Charge for Bing API Usage

April 19th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Following in Google’s footsteps, Bing has now grown enough to start charging developers for usage of the Bing search API’s. Free usage of the API’s will disappear in the next couple of months.

Prizes for the Bing API aren’t expensive. Microsoft will charge only $40 for the first 20.000 requests made. To facilitate authentication, the Bing API will undergo several changes. Microsoft will notify developers about this in due time.
