Vodafone to Migrate From Live! To MyWeb

July 22nd, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Marketing Strategies | No Comments »

Vodafone Vodafone Netherlands has confirmed that the operator will start migrating consumers away from it's Live! portal somewhere in the next few weeks. The same will happen in 7 other countries.

By migrating consumers to the new MyWeb environment, Vodafone will slowly halt the support for their Live! portal. It is not clear yet when the Live! portal will be shut down in total. Vodafone calls the migration to MyWeb a 'softlaunch' for now.

The new MyWeb allows Vodafone to provide a generic homepage on both PC and Mobile that includes widgets. The layout and functionality is much like Symbaloo/iGoogle and puts the consumer in charge of where they want to go with their mobile internet.
