Apple Cancels Foreign iPad Pre-Orders

March 29th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | 2 Comments »

Apple Various consumers and companies that have pre-ordered US iPads from outside the US are receiving e-mails from Apple canceling their orders in order to facilitate demand of real US consumers.

Those orders (coming mainly from websites like MyUS, Borderlinx and Shipito) that have been canceled will receive a full refund on their credit cards.

“Dear xxx,

We have to inform you that your iPad pre-order of 2010-03-17 has been cancelled by Apple and that consequently we will refund your payment of USD xxx.xx in the coming few days.

With our Concierge Service team, we have done everything we could to fulfill the massive demand we got in response to our offer. Unfortunately, Apple has deployed sophisticated means to detect any order that would be delivered to consumers outside the US and cancel them all. Even orders that were confirmed by mail were rejected after 4 days.

Whilst we disapprove such policies and regret not to be able to ship this great product in advance of its launch in your country, we have no choice but to refund you.

Should you have any questions regarding this cancellation, please contact our Customer Service at csrep@borderlinx.com.

We want to thank you for your continued trust in our services.

The Borderlinx Team.”

You must not know about Viaddress.com, I’ve got my iPad order approved through their free concierge service cuz they placed orders from different locations.

@ Mike (or whatever your real name is)

      Viaddress.com is a rip off.

I guess you’re another one of those paid reviewers?

Bad service, expensive prices despite bitching at their competition’s prices, and hiring people to put review on the net, that’s pathetic and unethical.

      Everyone, stay away from viaddress.com.
