SuperData: Mobile Gaming Revenues Set for $7.5bln by 2015

According to SuperData, the mobile gaming market has the potential to reach a market value of $7.5 billion by 2015. The increase of value goes hand-in-hand with the increase of the amount of smartphones being sold.

The main market for mobile gaming is Asia, followed by the US. In Asia, featurephones still make up for 85% of the market. Mobile advertising is still the main moneymaker for mobile gaming. According to SuperData, Angry Birds still makes between $1 and $6 a month from showing ads. On the rise is the freemium model. Famale gamers aged 25-32 spend an average of $12,92 a month on freemium games. That’s $5,12 more than men do.
