Zynga Paid $180.000.000 for OMGPOP

March 25th, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

Following the acquisition of OMGPOP, there has been a lot of speculation about the value of the deal. Analysts expected Zynga to pay between $150 and $250 million for the developer.

As it turns out, Zynga put $180 million on the table to acquire OMGPOP. Rumours also say there is an earn-out clause of $30 million, but that hasn’t been confirmed. OMGPOP’s payroll spans 40 employees and their hit game DrawSomething attracts between 12 and 13 million active users a day.
