IDC: Developers Less Interested in Android

March 22nd, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

According to a study from IDC, developers are losing interest in developing apps for the Android platform. Last year, 87% of the developers had an interest in developing for Android. This year, it is down to 79%.

The root cause to the lack of interest is fragmentation on the platform as well as the growing interest and sales of in Apple products. Even though interest in Android is going down, it is still much bigger than alternative platforms.

IDC has surveyed 3.000 developers through Appcelerator.
