By now we all know RIM will have to push hard to conquer a piece of the tablet pie, but their PlayBook is doing far from bad. RBC estimates about a quarter of a million sales for the tablet.
With 250.000 units sold in the first month, RIM has beaten Motorola with the first month sales of their Xoom tablet. The total sales for Q1 is estimated to be around 500.000. We have played with the device a few days ago, and the hardware is pretty impressive. The only reason not to pick the PlayBook over the iPad is the lack of a proper e-mail client as the 7” screen is just as comfortable as the 10” the iPad offers.
