HandyGames has released some interesting demographics on the App Store today. The company investigated the small details that seem to have been left out of many other reports.
Did you know for example that only 7% of the paid apps use promo texts in their icons? This is 40% under free apps. If you narrow it down to just the top 20, it seems to be the other way around as 32% has text inside versus 8% on free. The study also dives deeper into localization and average price points.
