AMD Won’t Build ARM CPU’s

May 1st, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS, Smartphones & Tablets | No Comments »

There have been some rumours going around that AMD would have acquired a licence to build ARM based CPU’s.  The vendor has now announced it has no plans for ARM chips at all.

AMD strongly believes in the x86 design it and competitor Intel are working on.  AMD expects it’s chips to do well in mobile phones and tablet devices. It is even working on optimized versions of it’s Fusion CPU’s for Android based devices.
