Last night, Apple launched iAds Gallery, an app for those addicted to the iAd format from Apple. As it turns out, the idea seems to be stolen and Apple is violating it’s own developer guidelines with the app.
A female developer submitted an app to Apple some time ago called Ads Tube. Apple rejected the app, but prove of her idea is in the YouTube video below that was uploaded last June already. The ideas of her and Apple seem to match up.
In regards to the guidelines, there are complaints from the developer community that the app is violating the guidelines in regards to limited functionality as it only supports one method of interaction. Next to that, there’s this little line: ‘Apps that are primarily marketing materials or advertisements will be rejected’.
