Google Changes Recommendation Algorithm

April 7th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Rumors say there has been a so called ‘Google Dance’ on Android Market. Several app developers noticed their titles sky-rocketing in the charts while others went out of sight.

MyYearbook rose from 63 to 11 in the social chart while Seesmic went from 39 to 10. Others like Tic-Tac-Toe fell out of sight. While the exact algorithm remains a mystery, several developers have stated that Google might be tracking active use of apps instead of downloads alone. A fair system if you ask us.
