While the whole world expected the release to happen today, Apple released iOS 4.3 last night. The biggest impact of this update will be for developers of web based apps.
Apple has updated Safari’s JavaScript engine which makes Safari render websites and web apps about twice as fast. No doubt this update might introduce some compatibility issues though.
The update also adds various new features to the device. IOS 4.3 can stream audio and video hosted on the local network and Airplay improves the possibility to stream media on the device to Apple TV’s. Finally personal hotspot is added for iPhone’s so devices can use the iPhone 4 as a 3G modem.
Finally Apple drops support for the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G.
Congratulations
