If you know the brand Olivetti, you’d probably think of typewriters and dotmatrix printers. That same company has now announced it will be launching an Android tablet of it’s own.
The OliPad is a 1024×600 10 incher that holds an NVIDIA Tegra-2 CPU in it’s belly. The tablet doesn’t run on Android 3.0 but 2.2.2 instead and comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G support. Photo enthousiasts have to do with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The OliPad is aimed at the business market, meaning it will have to try to match up with RIM’s playbook. Of course, Olivetti will be launching a special app store called Application Warehouse. The pad should set you back around €399 and is already on sale via Telecom Italia stores.
