If rumors are right, BlackBerry is developing special versions of BlackBerry Messenger for both the iPhone as well as for Android. Both new versions would be paid apps though usage after purchase is free.
BlackBerry Messenger is highly popular amongst students and certainly increased sales of BlackBerry hardware which would make this a very interesting move.
