MWC: HTC Releases Android 2.4 Tablet

February 15th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS, Smartphones & Tablets | No Comments »

HTC has joined the tablet race, but has taken a remarkable step in regards to OS selection. While all others are firmly behind Android 3.0, HTC has chosen to go for Android 2.4 and there’s more.

The HTC Flyer also shows off the importance of the investment in OnLive we announced a few weeks back as the device allows gamers to play on OnLive while iPad consumers are still stuck with just an OnLive viewer.

Another interesting bit is the screen which is not only available for multi-touch use, but also comes with support for a special stylus. The 1024×600 screen is just 7 inches tall, so it is also one of the smaller tablets around. It runs on a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm CPU and has 1GB of RAM and 32GB Flash storage. It has a 5 Megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel on the front of the device.
