Microsoft Details Windows Phone 7 Update

January 6th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Windows Phone | No Comments »

To cut an end to the rumours, Microsoft has started to publish details about the upcoming updates to Windows Phone 7. The only thing the company didn’t detail yet is when we can expect them.

The coming updates will bring (as expected) copy/paste functionality to the platform based on gestures. You tap the first word and swipe all additional text you like top select.

Improvements should also speep up apps. Right now apps are switched on and off as the OS doesn’t support multi-tasking. A horrific experience when you accidentally swipe over the Bing button while playing a game.

Microsoft will also update the search functionality of Windows Marketplace.
