Google has pulled their App Inventor out of Beta meaning it is open to anyone that would be interested in trying to develop an application for the Android platform.
The App Inventor allows people to develop apps without any knowledge of software development. People just drag their apps together. All you need to use it is a Google account. In the video below, Google explains the mechanics of a fart app (though this one stars a cat).
