The Dutch use Their iPad an Hour a Day

According to research from publisher Sanoma, Dutch consumers that own an iPad spend about an hour a day with the device. 25% of iPad owners also use it on the toilet.

53% of iPad owners use it for over an hour a day. The favorite space to use the iPad is the livingroom (94%). 59% uses it in bed, right before going to sleep. 89% of iPad owners is a male. Most users are aged between 35 and 44 years old (33%).

In order of importance, users prefer reading the news, surf the internet, e-mail, game or watch videos and photos. This shows a high media consumption versus low active communication.

Sanoma polled 5.500 users of their nu.nl iPad app. In total, the nu.nl app was downloaded 80.000 times in The Netherlands. Sanoma thinks the total amount of iPad owners can’t be much higher.
