Samsung Apps to Merge TV and Mobile

October 20th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | 1 Comment »

Samsung has announced that it will make porting apps from mobile to their internet@tv service easier for developers. It will also start charging for app downloads on TV’s.

This announcement comes from Kyungsik Kevin Lee, who said that Samsung is building a platform that will work on both Mobile and TV. He also confirmed that the current system it uses is not compatible with Android or even Bada. Samsung expects to sell 5 million internet@tv TV’s in 2010 and another 10 million in 2011.
