CherryPal has announced the CherryPad America, a low-budget tablet computer based on Android. The slick (near-iPad) looking device will retail at only $188 and packs a full 7” LCD display.
The device will be running Android 2.1 with a promised upgrade to Android 2.2 later this year. It comes with a 800Mhz CPU and 2GB storage that can be expanded via MicroSD. It supports 3D rendering through OpenGL 2.0. It also support Wi-Fi for connectivity (what would you expect) and should have enough juice for 6 to 8 hours of usage. Readers in the US can already buy the device from Zecozi.
