Nielsen: Android Most Popular OS in the US

According to research from Nielsen, Android is now officially the most popular OS among recent smartphone buyers in the US market. It has beaten both iOS and BlackBerry OS in August.

Looking at actual marketshare, Android is growing, but BlackBerry remains the leading OS at 31%. Apple owns 28% of the market while Android is at 19%. Looking at the graph, it will take three to six months before Android will overtake the competition.
