Oracle to Bring Java ME to Mobile

September 29th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: J2me | 1 Comment »

Oracle is looking to end the issues of J2me by introducing Java ME to the mobile phone. Oracle expressed these ambitions during the JavaOne2010 conference.

Bringing JavaME to mobile phones will mean developers have much more freedom when it comes to including web standards and web services into their apps and games. JavaME would be targeted at low and mid tier devices where J2me and Brew are now dominating the market.

J2ME is still big business for us. I wonder if Java ME will really add something though…
