NPD: Kids Love Games (Surprise!)

September 23rd, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Research & Stats | 1 Comment »

According to research from NPD, kids love to play games on their mobile phones. The average kid owned mobile phone has around ten mobile games installed.

Still, games only take second place in a kid’s life. Their first priority remains music when considering the number of downloads. Kids are also more loyal to apps as only 1% of the apps is fired up only once. According to the research, parents are willing to pay more for an app if they know their kid will use it multiple times, yet the free offering is so good already that 82% of the downloaded apps are unpaid for.
