Gearbox has announced their roboballs which are remotely controlled by an Android (and later iOS) based phone. The balls come with a little suite of games and an API for other developers.
One of the first games of the developer allows two players to put their balls on the table and let the balls wrestle each other off it. On the phones, powerups can be collected while on the table, the balls can take virtual damage. The team also has a number of other creative games in mind, but they will also allow other developers to integrate roboball support into their apps and games.
Congratulations
