BlackBerryCool.com managed to get their hands on a developer presentation from RIM that had yet to be released to the development community. Apart from a large amount of API related data, it also contains insights into the BlackBerry owners.
RIM compares the BlackBerry platform with averages from other smartphone and feature phone platforms. The data shows that BlackBerry has a larger (55%) male demographic than the average smart- (49%) and feature phones (49%). The BlackBerry owner is also slightly younger (36.7) than the feature phone owner (36.9) but older than the average smartphone owner (35.8). The income of BlackBerry owners ($86.3K) is well above that of the smart- ($76.2K) and feature phone owners ($67.7K). The difference in wireless spend is smaller.
