iTunes Fraud Continues

July 12th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Though Apple said to have solved the fraud issues that hit the App Store last week, a new fraudulous developer has been identified by readers of techblog Ars Technica.

The developer is named WiiSHii Network and has launched a large set of travel apps under the GYOYO lable for Chinese cities. Just like the previous developer, this person used cracked accounts to make a large number of app purchases from its own portfolio. The Ars Technica reader that was hit by the scam noticed 34 paid downloads on his receipt, totaling $168,89. Apple is currently searching for an iTunes fraud specialist.
