Last week we reported about AppventCalendar.com, a website that promotes one free iPhone game every day, until Christmas. Though the second day disappointed consumers and questioned the future of the project, it seems to have become successful after all.
We are now on day 7 and still, there has been a free game launch every day. Today we even noticed an additional free game listing called ‘featured free games’. According to a story on PocketGamer, the game Totemo has even attracted over 65.000 new players during the promotion.
Though an increase in non-paying consumers might sound like a nightmare, the games to profit from additional word of mouth advertising as well as remaining listed on the site during the month to show new visitors what they have missed before. As a direct result, the titles offered in the promotion often manage to rank higher in the paid charts on the days after it.
Congratulations
