According to the latest IDC report, the analysts expect that the App Store will grow to 300.000 mobile apps and games by the end of 2010 and competitor Android will grow to 75.000.
The report doesn’t explain the massive growth any more then the fact that the App Store had a 900% growth year-on-year. Yet, the App Store will be facing fragmentation over the coming time which might result in a lot of smaller developers going out of business. ‘build it and they will come’ will no longer apply. The only thing that could counter that is Adobe’s Flash CS5 which will unleash PC and MAC flash developers on the platform and so, lower the barrier even further.
Congratulations
