Apple Starts to Remove Widget Apps

June 7th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Tonight is Apple Night, and we will probably not be blogging this time since we are still on a holiday break till the end of the week. Still we didn’t want to hold back the news that Apple has started to remove Widget apps, will they introduce their own widget plans tonight?

One of the widget apps that has been removed is MyFrame from Russel Ivanovic. His app was much like the dashboard we know from Apple’s computers. The developer contacted Steve Jobs and was replied with ‘We are not allowing apps that create their own desktops. Sorry.’

In other words, after apps with good looking girls and apps that detect wi-fi networks, Steve kills another business models from one day to the other. This move will without doubt put more iPhone investors off as this behavior is turning iPhone investments into a very high risk.
