Glu (GLUU) is shifting its focus more toward smartphones and that seems to have a direct effect on its developers, marketers and financial specialists in the UK if rumors are right…
This morning we received the disturbing news that Glu is closing down or at least slimming headcount in their UK studio as a direct result of the change of strategy. Though several employees have been given the option to move to alternative offices, it seems 45 to 60 employees will be fired.
As a result, running projects will be moved over to the studios in Moscow and Beijing, which isn’t a strange move as development in such countries is much cheaper. Still (if this rumor is true), it will be a bitter pill for all those involved.
btw, we are still in holiday mode untill June 12th.
