AdMob: iPod Owners Still Lag Upgrades

December 23rd, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS, Research & Stats | No Comments »

Admob AdMob has posted new details on iPhone and iPod usage. Several months after the 3.0 release it seems most iPhone owners have taken the time to upgrade (97%), but iPod Touch owners stay behind (68%).

When it comes to adopting the 3.1 OS, iPhone owners are also faster in updating their devices as 17% made the switch. On iPod, that’s only 8%. This means paying for upgrades is still a blocking factor for the iPod and so, might post a support problem for developers in the future.
