Following the appointment of William J Miller as interim president and CEO just over a month ago, Glu has now announced who will be leading the company over the years to come; Niccolo de Masi.
Niccolo de Masi is a well known name in the mobile games and entertainment industry as he held positions as CEO of Hands-on Mobile and CEO of the Monstermob Group. Most of his other jobs were also in the telecoms industry.
"The Board of Directors of Glu is delighted that Niccolo will be joining us as Glu's next President and CEO. We are convinced that he has exactly the right combination of energy, experience and skill to lead the company to a growing and profitable future," said Bill Miller, Chairman of the Board of Glu.
"I am excited to join the Glu team, which I believe to be a world-class global enterprise," said Niccolo de Masi. "I look forward to this new challenge, as we focus on utilizing the company's scale to enhance our market share in both the traditional carrier business and new platforms, such as the iPhone and social networks. I will work tirelessly to build upon the foundation that the Glu team has built and welcome this opportunity to lead Glu during what I believe will be a period of growth."
With the appointment, Glu has a new leader with experience and that seems to satisfy investors and analysts. In the period leading to this event, share share value has already started to rise and that’s good for Niccolo de Masi as well since he will be purchasing 1.250.000 shares in the company.
