August 18th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Ad Funded Gaming | 4 Comments »

For all you following our coverage of Greystripe’s activities in regards to ad subsidized games, we can finally tell you where to find the games. All free games are available from gamejump.com. Content providers are amongst others HandyGames, Ozura and Mobile Vision.

    1. Yes, well I don’t think they are so interested in us smaller guys after contacting them a few times… then again ‘some’ of the content listed there is not so good anyway so best if it is served up free methinks 😉

    2. Mark Ripley says:

Yeah I’ve heard zilch from them too – perhaps they’re only interested in licensed filth =)

    3. Yes it would appear on the surface that that may be the case perhaps.
I think that Ashu’s demise at Overloaded some time ago was now actually very good move for him indeed, as with his new marketing business this may put him for example in a very good position as a force behind mobile advert gaming when flash lite ‘probably’ take over in years to come… i.e. the only big money to be made will be in sponsors sticking their logo on our then ‘free’ games content to turnover revenue – smart man! (this is covered in the other thread about flash lite).
Therefore as much as I hate to say it heh, Greystripe have the right idea at almost the right time as currently they are wrapping j2me content, but their business model could easily be adapted to cover future media formats – not rocket science of course but nontheless a good move to make when revenues dry up from now very saturated j2me market place.
Er Bum! better flog that old j2me horse (just it’s head left now these day tho) while I still can 🙂

    4. I’ve also been left hanging. Ad-supported games are a good idea, but for now I guess I’ll stick with try-before-you buy and promote through sites like http://www.mobilerated.com.
