Apple has put a blog post online in which it asks developers not to use LBS data purely for advertising. Instead, Apple is pushing developers to do something useful with it.
Though Apple isn’t announcing a total ban on LBS advertising, it will not accept apps that use LBS (or Core Location) only for advertising reasons. Perhaps this is because there are costs for Apple to provide the data?
