McDonalds these days is not only promoting a healthy lifestyle (and selling greasy burgers along with it), but the king of burgers has some tricks up its mobile sleeves as well. Their recent co-sponsorship with I-Play to the Midnight Gaming Championships in the US seems to have lead at least to a small love affair between the both, resulting in a massive mobile advertising stunt.
The campaign supports the new Filet-O-Fish, but also has a clear link to mobile gaming. As consumers text FOF to 37438, they will receive a link to download digital Mac goodies like wallpapers and ringtones. Next to that, I-Play throws some nice mobile game demo’s in the package. With this partnership, I-Play has shown a new route to reach the consumers.
