Gameloft announced to have licensed yet another title from Endemol
called 1 vs. 100. This time, Gameloft made the deal with Endemol USA
instead of Endemol UK where they licensed Deal or no Deal earlier.
Through inking this deal, Gameloft acquired the full rights to release a 1 vs. 100 mobile game in the US alone. Just like with Deal or no Deal, Endemol doesn’t give out a global license. In the US, 1 vs. 100 is a strong brand which has 10 million viewers every week and like other Endemol formats, it originated from The Netherlands. Gameloft announced the game to be released during Q3 2007.
“Bringing the on-air experience to the mobile games category is an ideal brand extension and wonderful opportunity for both parties,” said Gonzague de Vallois, vice president of Publishing, Gameloft. “The show’s viewers are not only savvy mobile phone users, but avid participants and we’re excited to deliver their favorite show to their mobile phones.”
“We have already had phenomenal success integrating viewer interactivity into our hit game shows like Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100 within the on air broadcasts,” said Jon Vlassopulos, Vice President, Digital Media at Endemol. “It is clear that fans enjoy engaging with the show and so providing them a way to play anytime anywhere on their phones is a natural extension. We are looking forward to seeing it become a top seller!”
