THQ Wireless has broadened their licensing deal with Lucas Arts by adding Indiana Jones to the portfolio that already holds Star Wars as well.
THQ Wireless licensed the Indiana Jones brand for production of not only mobile games, but also side products like wallpapers and ringtones. At the same time, the license for Star Wars has been renewed.
“Expanding and renewing our business relationship with Lucasfilm is a real coup for THQ and casual, wireless gamers everywhere,” said Doug Clemmer, president of THQ Wireless. “Star Wars and Indiana Jones remain two of the most popular movie series of all time, with appeal that transcends both time and age demographics. Star Wars is one of our strongest THQ Wireless gaming franchises, and we look forward to building on that success, while we also create the first wireless content based on the adventures of Indiana Jones.”
“Lucasfilm is delighted to continue its relationship with a worldwide publisher of THQ’s caliber,” said Paul Southern, Sr. Director of Domestic Licensing and Marketing. “THQ Wireless has garnered considerable acclaim for its library of wireless Star Wars titles, and we couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of collaborating with them on future content.”
The first products scheduled on these licenses are Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
