Juniper Research announced their expectations of the mobile
entertainment service market to increase threefold to $ 64 billion by
2012.

The biggest contributors to this increase of the market are mobile gaming, TV and music services. Currently the market of mobile entertainment is valued at $ 20 billion by Juniper. Other forms of mobile entertainment that contribute to the market value are user generated content (UGC), gambling, adult and infotainment.

Mobile games will be the second biggest segment in the mobile entertainment market and so follow directly after mobile music. The casual gaming market has the biggest growth potential. Revenues are expected to grow from just under $ 5 billion now, to nearly $ 16 billion in 2012.

According to report author Dr Windsor Holden, “With revenues from voice services declining and messaging revenues flatlining, last year finally saw a number of more sophisticated entertainment services begin to fulfil their potential and redress the balance.
