Though in theory this news seems to be a bit far away from the world of mobile games, this deal might rip the Who Wants to be a Millionaire license out of Glu’s hands in the future.
Without doubt, Who Wants to be a Millionaire is one of Glu’s biggest licensed brands in the mobile games market. With the acquisition of 2WayTraffic by Sony, it might mean that when the contract runs out, Sony might be doing the game themselves.
The WWTBAM brand was originally created by Celasor in the UK. Celador was acquired by 2WayTraffic a few years back. Also, 2WayTraffic acquired the Emexus mobile content platform, something which might also stimulate Sony’s mobile gaming business.
