Gish, probably one of the most intensive casual 2D games has now made it to the mobile phone. Though the mobile game will probably be a real battery drainer, it’s guaranteed fun!
Back when I was still working at Overloaded, one of the developers showed me Gish and explained that that technology wise, that would be one of the greatest challenges to convert to mobile.
Now, three years after, Erphenic Studios and Hardwire seem to have succeeded to port the intensive physics to J2me. As they say; “It even runs on a low-end D500!”.
The game comes packed with mtiplayer functionality as well. Via a Bluetooth connection, players can compete or play the storymode in a co-op game. An impressive video is available on YouTube. For all techies out there, this really is a game to watch.
Congratulations
