EA’s Neil Young, head of the Electronic Arts Los Angeles Studio, has
recently left the company. His new mission? To start a new mobile game
development studio for the iPhone.
Neil Young kicked off his career at the Origin Studio where Ultima Online was borne. After that, he was involved with Majestic, a game that used e-mail and IVR to get in contact with its players.
His new company will be called ng:moco which stands for Net-Gen Mobile Company. The development will be focused totally at the new experiences offered by the iPhone. With that vision, this probably is the first iphone only mobile game developer in the world.
One of the bigger benefits according to Neil Young, is the fact that the carrier is removed from the value chain. This removes some barriers, which limit the mobile games industry from expanding.
