Probably one of the oldest mobile game review sites, Midlet Review, has
been put up for sale by its long time owner Jan Weber. Is this yet
another victim of consolidation in the market?
Midlet-Review.com is not the first mobile games website that has problems to survive in this market. Earlier, MobileIndustry.Biz was taken offline by its owners due to problems in keeping the site up to date and profitable at the same time. And fair enough, we don’t have time to report on a daily basis as well.
Personally I have been in contact with Jan for years. His website really got a special place in my heart and so I wish the best for the future of this website, but in reality a buyer will be a hard thing to find. Comments on the website do show that the readers are very committed to the website and the stats posted by Jan are pretty impressive for a website with a name that might be just a bit too geeky to be remembered by the average John Doe.
Details on the sale can be found here.
That’s a shame, it is/was good site for mobile.
