Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that its mobile game, Emoticons Mobile, has received the Honors Award in the software/video games category of the National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA).
Emoticons Mobile is a puzzle game that is easy to start. Players mix and match emoticons, such as Yellow Smilies, Blue Frownies and Purple Crazies to create the biggest matches and longest combos, collecting points along the way.
"We’re delighted to once again be recognized by NAPPA for our mobile games," said Joe Morris, Vice President of Konami Mobile. "We strive to provide a wide variety of games that appeal to all gamers, including family friendly titles, and it’s great that independent judges consider our titles among the best!"
Emoticons was created by iQ212 as part of their mass-market vision to make games for everyone, wherever they may play.
Rick Marazzani, GM of iQ212 says, "We set out to make a game that our moms would play, knowing that if Mom approves, the whole family will enjoy it. Konami’s market presence and expertise has made them a great partner in bringing this vision to mobile devices."
Now in its 17th year, the National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) is the most comprehensive awards program for children’s products and parenting resources. With extensive professional experience working with children and parents, NAPPA’s independent panel of judges are experts in their fields. They evaluate hundreds of submissions to select the most appealing, fun, safe, educational, age-appropriate and enduring products allowing parents to make informed decisions when purchasing items for their families. As one of the oldest and most comprehensive awards programs for children’s products, NAPPA provides an unparalleled filter that parents trust and industry experts respect.
This is the second consecutive year NAPPA has recognized Konami Mobile for their family friendly titles. In 2007, Konami Mobile received the Gold Award for two mobile titles, Professor Fizwizzle and Frogger 25th.
Congratulations Konami and iQ212!
