Ok, since we talk about software from Google for the iPhone, we are clearly not talking about a mobile game. Still, this case might be interesting for all developers of mobile games for the App Store.
So what's going on? Google developed their Google Mobile application for the iPhone. As many know, Apple has strict guidelines to mobile game/app development on the iPhoneOS that prohibit use of undocumented API's. The reason for this is probably that Apple will still be able to adjust them along the time without compromising the user experience.
The interesting part of this news is not only that Google broke the rules when it comes to development, but also that Apple allowed the app to be available toward consumers. Apple should check every app before it goes online which means that they did a sloppy job, or bended over for the giant. Who knows where this will be going next in terms of development freedom.
